Crush Partners with Wolverhampton Wanderers North American Academy

The Knoxville Football Club "Crush" is proud to announce that they are a new partner club with  English Premier League's Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. Crush becomes one of Wolves' North American Academy Club Partners, which will allow the education of their coaches, development of their players, and the opportunity to experience everything about the current Premier League side.

The partnership will allow Crush players to attend Wolves North American Academy ID Camps, educate Crush coaches in the Wolves Academy curriculum , and even allow for their teams and coaches to go to England to see the Wolverhampton Wanderers experience firsthand.  Director of Coaching, Scott Muir, says, " "Knoxville Football Club was established back in the year 2000. Now in 2012 we can announce a partnership with Wolverhampton that will allow this club to reach more players around the world.  We look forward to working with Wolverhampton as our club continues to grow in East Tennessee.  It is a great opportunity not only for our players, but our coaches and families as well.  Not only will our players be able to have training opportunities with their North American Academy, but it will allow our coaches and players to learn from some of the best professionals in the world.  With former players like Aaron Schoenfeld having success in the MLS as member of the Columbus Crew and Tyler Gibson reaching the college cup finals with Charlotte, the next step would be to have some of our players get the opportunity to play overseas"

The philosophy of the Knoxville Football Club being based around total player development, player-centered coaching, and the values the game of soccer teaches, this partnership allows for Crush to further the club under the tutelage of one of  England's most storied clubs. President of Crush, Mark Mamantov, voiced "We see our partnership with Wolverhampton to not only be a great soccer opportunity, but also a tremendous educational opportunity for our players.  We want our players to appreciate not only the technical aspects of the sport but also the cultural aspects of soccer as a worldwide phenomenon.  This partnership will offer great insights to our players as to how soccer is played in other parts of the world "

With the growth of the Knoxville Football Club in the last year, along with the progression and success experienced by Crush teams since last Fall, this is wonderful timing for the relationship between the two sides. Associate Director of Coaching, Fields Brown, says "With the strides we have been able to make this season, and where we see this club going in the next few years, this is a huge step for Crush. We look forward to seeing the hard work and benefits that this partnership provides."

Knoxville F.C will host a Wolves North American I.D Camp this year, and will provide Crush players the opportunity to experience first-hand what it is like to train like a Premier League player. Players who display potential will be invited to a Wolves Academy Experience at the Wolves Academy in England in the Spring of 2013.
